| MOS 2336 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician |
Summary. Explosive ordnance disposal technicians perform various duties incident to the location, excavation, recovery, rendering safe, disassembly, inerting, detonating, burning or final disposal of unsafe conventional explosive ordnance, WMD (chemical, nuclear, and biological ordnance) and IED that represent a threat to operations, installations, personnel, or materiel. These include improvised explosive/nuclear devices that present a threat to operations, installations, personnel, or materiel. |
| Requirements/Prerequisites (1) Must have a GT score of 110 or higher. (2) Complete the Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Basic Course. (3) Meet all requirements for assignment to a critical position within the Nuclear weapons Personnel Reliability Program; refer to SECNAVINST 5510.35. (4) Interviewed per MCO 3571.2. (5) Volunteer in the grade of sergeant in any MOS (waiverable for Marines who are corporals and are reenlisting at the first term alignment point). (6) Must have a final secret security clearance based on a background investigation. (7) Normal color vision and no claustrophobic tendencies. (8) U.S. citizen. (9) In the performance of their duties must be physically qualified for
an explosive driver's and emergency driver's license per NAVSEA 2239.
